 The Nikon Df was designed to support various iterations of the Nikon F-mount, including non-AI (Pre-AI), AI, and AI-s lenses. It is currently the only Nikon DSLR that can natively mount and meter with non-AI lenses thanks to its collapsible coupling lever. While other DSLRs can use AI and AI-s glass, the Df provides the broadest compatibility across nearly every F-mount lens produced since 1959
